From dirt to soil - with Market Gardening - Part 2
Soil is a fascinating complex ecosystem. It's the base of nearly any farming system and therefore key to successful farm business. Throughout the last decades however industrialized and highly mechanized farming systems lead to far reaching desertification of soil. More and more farm land worldwide became dirt where no plant is able to really thrive anymore.
Hannes from Gut Haidehof near Hamburg (Germany) pictures the fascinating correlations within the soil as well as between soil and plants. He also explains how we can empower the perfect natural systems to thrive again and shows a very holistic example of a regenerative farming system: Market Gardening. A bio-intensive method to produce high quality fresh vegetables while rapidly regenerating soil.
